The Father Who Never Leaves

Good morning. I’m glad you’re here. Saturday morning, coffee, and a quiet moment to reflect.

Today’s reflection honors the mothers who are raising their children with courage, love, and quiet determination, even when the road feels longer than they expected…

Some mothers carry a role they never imagined they would walk alone. They rise each morning determined to provide stability, guidance, and love for their children, even when the weight of responsibility feels heavy.

In many homes, a mother quietly carries both roles. She wakes the children, prepares the meals, helps with homework, wipes away tears, and tucks them into bed at night. Day after day she does her best to provide the stability and love every child needs, even when the road feels long and sometimes lonely.

Many mothers walk this path with remarkable strength. Yet beneath that strength, there are often quiet questions that surface from time to time.

Am I enough for my children?

Will they feel the absence of the father who is not there?

It is a heavy question for any mother to carry.

But Scripture gently reminds us of something many people forget.

God has always had a special place in His heart for children who grow up without a present father.

Psalm 68:5 describes Him this way:

“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.”

What a powerful truth that is.

While earthly circumstances sometimes leave gaps that feel painful and unfair, God Himself steps into those places with a love that does not abandon, withdraw, or grow weary.

A child may not have an earthly father present in the home, but that child is never without a Father.

And one of the greatest gifts a mother can give her children is teaching them that truth early in life.

Mom, God loves you.
Love your children well, and teach them this truth early in life:

God is the Father who never leaves.

Heavenly Father,

A Prayer for God’s Little Treasures, Our Children

We thank You for being the Father who never leaves. We ask that You watch over our children as they go about their day. Keep them safe from harm and wrap them in Your loving arms of protection.

Comfort them, dear Lord, and guide their steps so they grow up loving You, serving You, and trusting You.

May they always know that they are never alone, because You are their Father, their Savior, and their Friend — the Father who never leaves.

Amen.
